Penny and her mother were warmly welcomed into their own clean thatch and brick home at Place of Rescue. Living on the streets had taken its toll on both mother and daughter. Issues of dishonesty, lack of cleanliness, violence and immorality had to be addressed. Jesus loved and forgave.

The day came when Penny had to watch in sorrow and horror as her mother left her sad mess of a life and went to her eternal home with her Lord Jesus in Heaven. Watching her mother be cremated was a traumatic experience for the young daughter but she knew her mother was safe with Jesus and one day she would see her again.

Watching her mother be cremated was a traumatic experience

A kind widow patient at the centre welcomed Penny into her home and she became part of the community of Place of Rescue AIDS Centre. Her gratitude was touching as she expressed her joy in what the Lord had provided for her.

As soon as the first house at Place of Rescue Orphanage was completed Penny transferred there, just across the road from the AIDS Centre. She became a member of a "family" of 11 girls whose foster mother cared for them with love.

Penny now goes to school regularly. Her health is good as she enjoys the delicious food she helps her foster Mom cook. She has a sweet, happy disposition that endears her to others. She has a wonderful voice and her praises to Jesus must make His heart rejoice as He sees this child of His RESCUED.

Jesus increased in wisdom and stature and in favor with God and men. So is Penny!
